Costa Rica Nursing Program

Summer 2023, June 1-11, 2023 (Proposed Date)

Students will be enrolled for the course listed below and are eligible to apply for the TAMUCC Study Abroad Scholarship.

Course Name: Nursing Care of Community Health Clients

             Estimated Program Fees: TBA

Estimated Program Fees Includes: 

Airfare, Accommodations, Some Meals, In-Country Transportation, Scheduled Excursions, & CISI Insurance, and will be collected in advance of program start date in 3 installments. Including 3-credit tuition, passport (new or renewal), personal spending, additional meals, & course materials/textbooks). Tuition is an additional cost and billed separately (closer to program start date). Other out-of-pocket expenses will vary based on student's needs or spending habits.

 Requirements:

Students must maintain a 2.5 minimum GPA (UG) or 3.0 minimum GPA (GR), remain in good academic & behavioral standing leading up to their program departure date.  Juniors and Seniors may also apply to this program. Students must complete their Core Classes.

Application process

  2. Send your most updated unofficial transcript to study.abroad@tamucc.edu 

You can access your unofficial transcript on SAIL under the student record. 

  1. Pay program deposit and submit the following document to Study Abroad Office:
  • Copy of deposit receipt
  • Study Abroad Withdrawal & Refund policies
  • Study Abroad Student Code of Conduct form
  • TAMUC System Waiver form
  • TAMUCC Emergency form
  • TAMUCC Export Control form
  • Copy of passport (must be valid for up to 6 months after program end dates)
  • A passport-sized photo (must be taken within the last 3 months)

   4. Apply for the Study Abroad Scholarship and other Financial Aid if qualified.

   5. Pay installments according to timeline.

   6. Receive Insurance card.

   7. Attend Departure orientation.

   8. Register for courses and pay tuition.

   9. Depart.

Email receipt of payment to study.abroad@tamucc.edu.  You may pay more than the listed amounts for the installments up to the total Study Abroad Fee; no pre-payments for Tuition will be accepted.
