String Camp 2023

Coastal Bend String Camp

June 12-16, 2022

We are excited to announce that our Coastal Bend String Camp is returning and is better than ever this year!

The Coastal Bend String Camp provides musical instructions to elementary, middle school, junior high and high school students. Playing a string instrument all day with friends is a lot of fun!

Students must have at least one year of experience on a string instrument such as violin, viola, cello or double bass. There will be a special Faculty Concert during the Camp. Parents, guardians, family, and friends are invited free of charge. Classes include group lessons, sectionals, full ensemble rehearsals, and special workshops.

The camp runs June 12-16, 2023 with classes and activities from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Camp will end following the Camp Final Showcase that will take place on June 16 at 1:00 P.M. Most activities will take place in the Center for the Arts at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Auditions

All students will complete a simple audition for placement. This is not an audition to get into the camp. ALL students with at least one year of experience on their instrument will be welcomed at the camp. Auditions will be held in the morning of the first day of camp. Students should bring their own audition music, something that will best show off their skills and musicianship.
