Membership

The IACUC will have at least five members, including people with the following backgrounds:

• A veterinarian with experience in laboratory animal science and medicine, who has directed or delegated authority and responsibility for activities involving animals at an institution.
• A practicing scientist experienced in research with animals.
• A person whose primary concerns are in a non-scientific area (e.g., an ethicist, business, lawyer, librarian, homemaker or member of the clergy).
• A person not affiliated with an institution who represents community interests.
