Center for Marine Aquaculture
The Center for Marine Aquaculture (CMAQ) is a Texas A&M system center jointly operated by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas A&M AgriLife Research. The CMAQ is aimed at supporting the expansion and sustainability of marine aquaculture in Texas and the wider United States. Strategic goals of the CMAQ include catalyzing industry growth through sustainable intensification, increasing long-term employment opportunities along the coast, improving seafood production efficiency and quality, and developing new products and markets. A key strength of the CMAQ is in supporting the commercialization of novel aquaculture and bioresource technologies, including genetically improved germplasm.
Mission
The mission of the Center for Marine Aquaculture is to develop and support the marine aquaculture industry through cutting-edge research, commercialization of new technology, and workforce development.
