Geographic Information Systems Certificate

Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of geographic information systems. The Coordinator of the Geographic Information Systems program or a designee may waive certain courses if a student has previously completed appropriate GIS courses. Students must apply for the certificate and complete a Certificate Plan approved by the Coordinator of the Geographic Information Systems program or a designee.

The certificate in geographic information systems requires 33 credits:

• 29 - Geographic Information Systems Courses
• 4- Introductory Computer Course

The certificate in geographic information systems will provide a general knowledge of the field to students and practitioners who have already obtained a bachelor's degree in other fields. This will prepare students for professionalization within the field or help students pursue additional education.
