Designed for both career-changers and recent graduates, the program blends graduate-level coursework with hands-on classroom experience, culminating in a master’s degree and initial Texas teacher certification.

Whether you’re shifting careers or advancing from your undergraduate degree, TAMU-CC’s Master of Science in Secondary Education with EC-12 or 7-12 Texas teaching certification prepares you to step into the classroom with confidence, competence, and real-world experience. You’ll complete graduate-level coursework while earning teacher certification. Courses are offered either at night, online, or both, making it possible to further your education even if you work full time.
Students are eligible to pursue graduate-level course work in Secondary Education if they have a bachelor's degree in any subject and meet College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) graduate admission requirements.
