Founders of ¡Festival de Mariachi! en la Isla

Festival de Mariachi en la Isla celebrates the rich cultural heritage, musical artistry, and community spirit of mariachi tradition. Now in its 6th year, the festival has grown into a signature cultural event for the Coastal Bend, bringing together world-class performers, student ensembles, educators, and audiences for a multi-day celebration of music, dance, and cultural connection.
Founded through a shared vision of honoring and elevating mariachi artistry in South Texas, the festival reflects the dedication and passion of its founders and the ongoing leadership of its planning committee. Each year, the committee works collaboratively with artists, educators, and community partners to create meaningful experiences that inspire the next generation while celebrating the legacy of those who came before.
Festival de Mariachi en la Isla exists because of the passion, leadership, and cultural advocacy of its founders and organizing committee. Their vision established a platform that celebrates mariachi not only as a performance art, but as a living cultural tradition that connects generations.
Today, the festival is guided by a dedicated planning committee composed of arts leaders, educators, community advocates, and cultural practitioners who work year-round to develop programming, build partnerships, and expand the festival’s impact.
