Welcome, Graduate Recruits

Welcome to Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi! On behalf of the College of Engineering and Computer Science faculty and staff, I sincerely congratulate you on your acceptance to the College of Engineering and Computer Science. We are truly excited to work with you as you start your journey to becoming a great engineer!

Within the College of Engineering and Computer Science, you will find enormous opportunities to pursue your career aspiration. We are home to 11 engineering degree programs, and all but two BS programs are fully ABET accredited. The newly established BS programs in Civil Engineering and Industrial Engineering are well on their way toward the initial ABET accreditation in 2024. Our faculty are deeply invested in providing a quality and fulfilling education. As a part of that education, we strive to create opportunities for students to participate in research and other experiential learning activities. Students are encouraged and welcomed by faculty to join their cutting-edge research programs. You will have opportunities to join research teams that use unmanned aerial vehicles to monitor the Gulf of Mexico, develop miniature IoT systems for energy harvesting, use AI to track pathogens, fabricate and characterize nano-meter thin films for oil spill detection and response, and many more.

We make every effort to ensure each student feels comfortable bringing their genuine, authentic self to school every day. I encourage you to explore our vibrant campus activities. Within the college, there are many academic, cultural, and recreational student clubs to choose from, or create one yourself! You will be at the center of every decision we make.

Finally, if you haven’t had the opportunity, I invite you to come and tour our beautiful campus, your future home away from home. Our team at the Islander Welcome Center (361.825.8687) can assist you with setting up a campus tour. I look forward to seeing you on campus soon!
