A Message from the President
Islanders,
Like so many of you, I am heartbroken by the devastation caused by the recent flooding in Kerrville and the Hill Country. Lives have been lost, families have been displaced, and Texans and the nation are in mourning. Our hearts are with all those affected by this disaster, and especially with those still enduring the pain of uncertainty as recovery efforts continue.
At Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, we are a family of Islanders from every corner of Texas and beyond. Whether you’re navigating this tragedy firsthand or feeling the emotional weight from afar, please know this: You are not alone. We are here for you, and we are here to help.
To support the well-being of our campus community and the community at large, the university is offering a variety of mental health resources.
TELUS Health has activated a Community Crisis Support Line, available at 877.757.7587. Individuals who call will receive confidential emotional support and referrals to additional community resources. This support line is available to everyone, including students, faculty, staff, and the community.
Students:
The University Counseling Center is available at 361.825.2703. Students are also encouraged to download the TELUS Health app to connect with a counselor via chat or talk, 24/7.
Faculty and Staff:
Mental health support is available through Accolade Health, MDLive, and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) via ComPsych. For more information on these services, visit the HR website linked here.
Additionally, if you are in contact with any impacted students who may need accommodations or extra support, please connect them with the Dean of Students Office at deanofstudents@tamucc.edu or by phone at 361.825.6219 during business hours. You can also submit a CARE referral here.
