Ted Oakley
Ted Oakley is the Managing Partner & Founder of Oxbow Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisor with offices located in Austin, Corpus Christi, Houston and San Antonio. Mr. Oakley is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He is a member of the Estate Planning Council, CFA Institute and the Houston Society of Financial Analysts. He is also a Partner of Herndon Plant Oakley Ltd., an investment company. Mr. Oakley is a United States Veteran. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University.
Mr. Oakley began his career in Dallas, Texas over 40 years ago. He joined Merrill Lynch in Dallas and New York City. He became a shareholder in Rotan Mosle in Houston, Texas and later formed the investment firm, Herndon Plant Oakley Ltd. He founded Oxbow Advisors in 1999 and continues as Managing Partner.
He is the author of nine books: You Sold Your Company, $20 Million and Broke, Crazy Time (Surviving the First 12 Months after Selling Your Company), Rich Kids Broke Kids, Wall Street Lies, Danger Time, My Story, The Psychology of Staying Rich, and Your Money Mentality. He is a frequent guest commentator on Fox News, Fox Business, Yahoo TV, Cheddar TV and T.D. Ameritrade TV at NASDAQ. He has published articles in Nations Business, Business Week, Fortune magazine and other nationwide publications. Mr. Oakley and Oxbow are frequently quoted from their Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.
Mr. Oakley is a board member of the Texas State Aquarium. He is also a board member of American Bank and American Bank Holding Company.
