About Hady Benyamen
Dr. Hady Benyamen is an Assistant Professor for the Autonomy Research Institute (ARI) and the Department of Engineering at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. In this role, he conducts and leads research efforts aligned with ARI goals.
Dr. Benyamen is working on developing an engineering research program at ARI based on his experience in flight dynamics, flight control, and the application of artificial intelligence techniques to dynamics and control. Dr. Benyamen also teaches coursework with the Department of Engineering.
Prior to this role, Dr. Benyamen was with the University of Kansas where he completed his Ph.D. degree. His research work focused on developing a flight controller for a fixed-wing uncrewed aircraft using deep reinforcement learning techniques. He also worked on using machine learning techniques to model uncrewed aircraft flight dynamics based on a bank of previously collected flight test data. After completing his Ph.D. degree, he was part of leading a project funded by the Federal Aviation Administration focusing on integrating uncrewed aircraft into the national airspace. The project included field testing of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Traffic Management (UTM) technologies for autonomously maintaining separation between UAS and manned aircraft.
Dr. Benyamen holds Ph.D., M.S, and B.S. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas.
