To help ensure that advising appointments remain accessible to all students who need them, the Islander Advising Center has established a No-Show Policy.
A no-show appointment is defined as a scheduled advising appointment that a student does not attend, cancel, or communicate with their advisor about in advance to let them know they will be unable to attend.
Students who accumulate three (3) no-show appointments within a single academic term will no longer be able to automatically schedule additional advising appointments for the remainder of that term.
If you reach the no-show limit, you may submit an appeal by contacting academicadvising@tamucc.edu. Please include your A# and the reason for the three (3) no-show appointments within a single academic term in your appeal. We encourage students to reach out if they encounter challenges with attending appointments—our goal is to support your success.
Students who reach the no-show limit will still have access to advising support through drop-in hours and are encouraged to meet with an advisor during those sessions.
We appreciate your help in keeping advising appointments available for everyone. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please cancel your appointment or contact your advisor as soon as possible. We’re here to help—please let us know if you need assistance.
