Economic Development and Industry Partnerships

The Office of Economic Development and Industry Partnerships serves as a catalyst for economic development and an innovation hub for South Texas. Its mission is to cultivate a culture of innovation by promoting business development, fostering an entrepreneurial workforce, and facilitating partnerships with the private sector. The office works closely with regional economic development agencies to accelerate job creation and support small businesses and young entrepreneurs by:

• Fostering research and development activities;
• Developing industry partnerships around new product development programs; and
• Providing evidence-based training programs for local entrepreneurs, including coaching, networking and product pitch development.
