Dr. Susan Wolff Murphy Announced as Interim Associate Provost

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi announces Dr. Susan Wolff Murphy as Interim Associate Provost. Dr. Murphy began her tenure in this role on June 1, 2022, and she has over 20 years of experience at the Island University 

Dr. Murphy joined Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi as an Assistant Professor of English in 2001, and she has most recently served as Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Director of the Coastal Bend Writing Project, and Professor of English. Through the years, she has also worked as Director of First-Year Islanders, First-Year Writing Program Coordinator, and Co-Director of the University Core Curriculum Program.

Dr. Murphy completed a PhD at Texas A&M University, a Master of Arts at Sonoma State University, and an undergraduate degree at The University of California, Santa Barbara.

According to Dr. Clarenda Phillips, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, “Dr. Murphy is an outstanding teacher-scholar who has already served in several administrative roles. Her leadership experience and knowledge of TAMU-CC make her ideal for this position, and I am thrilled that Dr. Murphy is joining the Academic Affairs leadership team.”
