The Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi is a 60-credit-hour program built for educators who are ready to expand their impact, deepen their expertise, and step into leadership roles.

Graduates go on to teach in higher education, lead research initiatives, design innovative training programs, guide curriculum development, and inform education policy across K–12 systems, universities, nonprofits, and the private sector.

Program Details

Students choose from five emphasis areas to align their studies with their professional goals:

  • Instructional Design and Educational Technology
  • Kinesiology
  • Literacy Studies
  • Special Education

Program coursework includes:

  • 18 credit hours of core Curriculum & Instruction courses
  • 15 credit hours of research methods
  • 18 credit hours in your chosen emphasis
  • 9 credit hours of dissertation research

Courses are delivered in a hybrid format, blending online and in-person instruction to support both full-time students and working professionals. Generous scholarships are also available to help reduce financial barriers as you begin your doctoral journey.
