Will I have opportunities to conduct research?

Yes. Original research is a central part of the doctoral experience. Students complete a dissertation while working with faculty conducting research across a variety of engineering disciplines and emerging technologies.

Are internships required?

Internships are encouraged but not required. The program emphasizes opportunities to gain research experience through industry partnerships, government laboratories, and externally funded research projects.

Is financial assistance available?

Graduate teaching assistantships and research assistantships may be available, depending on available institutional and external grant funding.
