Athletic Training, MS

The program has approximately 20 spots annually for students in the MS in Athletic Training Program (numbers may fluctuate based on available resources and preceptors) with the rolling admission once spots are filled, the application cycle will close for the year.

• ATCAS charges $99 for the first program students apply to and then $55 for each additional program.

Please Note: Applicants who wish to apply for a program other than the MS in Athletic Training program will be required to apply through Apply Texas Application portal for the program of their choice at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. The application processing fee is required for each application submitted.

Application requirements specific to this program:

• Students must submit official transcripts from all institutions attended with a demonstrated 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Students may be conditionally admitted to the program with at least a 2.5 overall GPA pending program approval
• Documentation of completion of the prerequisite courses (pdf)

• It is NOT required but it is recommended that students complete at least 50 observation hours under the direction of a Certified Athletic Trainer.

Once students are admitted to the program, they will need to submit the following documentation:

• Documentation of Health Physical by a Medical Doctor (pdf)
• Proof of Current Vaccination Series (pdf) Medical documentation for students allergic to immunizations may be provided
• Proof of Current TB Test (pdf) (within the past month) and/or medical documentation

• The program begins the beginning of June each year.
• Applications to the program are only accepted once a year.
• Part-time enrollment is not an option.
• Students must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 during the two professional years. This GPA reflects all courses included in the professional curriculum. A minimum grade of C is required for all courses in the professional program.
• In addition to successful completion of all courses required for graduation, students are required to pass a comprehensive written examination. Students will take this examination while enrolled in practicum. All students should have completed pre-requisites prior to enrollment in practicum.
• Students enrolled in the Athletic Training program will be expected to engage in athletic training clinical experiences and supplemental clinical experiences. Additional information regarding travel expectations to clinical sites can be found here (pdf).
