Applied Computing Essentials Certificate

Domestic Students:

Final deadline for receipt of complete applications:

• Fall - July 15
• Spring - December 10

International Students:

Final deadline for receipt of complete applications:

• Fall - June 1
• Spring - November 1

Complete Application for Admission:

• Apply for Admission via Apply Texas Application
• An applicant may defer admission to an earlier/later semester. Applications are valid for one year. One deferral is allowed per application.

Application fee:

• $50 for US citizen, $70 for International Students
  • Pay during application process
  • Pay fee online: Pay Online
  • Pay fee on campus to Business Office

Please Note: Applicants who wish to apply for a different program will be required to submit a new application. The application processing fee is required for each application submitted.

Requirements:

• Essay- should tell a story about yourself:
  • Provide a short story about yourself. Your education, relevant skills, jobs, and projects can be considered. 
  • Which areas of computer science are you interested in focusing on while pursuing your certificate? What are your long-term goals?
  • Do you plan to pursue MS Computer Science upon acquiring the ACE certificate? If so, what do you hope to acquire from an MS Computer Science program 
• Letters of recommendation and resume are optional
• A non-computer science BS degree is required
• CS or relevant majors students can directly apply to the MS: Computer Science program
