Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Announces 2025-2026 Furgason BRAVO! Series Lineup
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is proud to announce the 2025-2026 season of its Furgason BRAVO! Series in the H-E-B Performance Hall at the Performing Arts Center. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, the series began the same year the Performing Arts Center first opened its doors and has since been a forefront of cultural arts and entertainment in South Texas.
This year’s theme, Where Land Meets Sea, reflects a season of dynamic artistry that bridges cultures, generations, and genres. From legendary folk and swing to cutting-edge global percussion and oceanic storytelling, this lineup promises an unforgettable journey on the Island.
“This season’s Furgason BRAVO! Series offers a cultural journey around the globe,” said Dr. Sara Harris Baker, Executive Director for the Performing Arts Center. “We’re excited to welcome community members of all ages who are eager to explore new experiences and broaden their horizons.”
The 2025-2026 Furgason BRAVO! Series features the following performances:
- Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025 — Los Texmaniacs
Grammy-winning Tejano trailblazers kick off the season with a high-energy celebration of Texas roots music, blending conjunto, rock, R&B, and cultural pride. - Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025 — Twincussion
This groundbreaking percussion duo from Taiwan merges traditional instruments and modern innovation in a rhythm-driven performance that transcends borders. - Friday, Jan. 30, 2026 —The Limeliters
The legendary folk group returns with their iconic harmonies and storytelling, delivering timeless favorites and fresh takes on American folk classics. - Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026 — The Glenn Miller Orchestra
One of the most enduring big bands of all time brings swing-era magic to the stage, performing nostalgic hits with flair and elegance. - Monday, March 16, 2026 — Seraph Brass
This award-winning all-female brass quintet presents a vibrant program of classical, contemporary, and popular works. - Wednesday, April 22, 2026 — Brian Skerry
National Geographic Explorer and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker takes audiences beneath the surface with a powerful multimedia journey through ocean life. Hosted in collaboration with the Harte Research Institute at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Baker, who joined the Island University this summer, has held key academic and administrative roles, including Dean of Fine Arts, Director of Choral Activities, and Music Department Chair at Temple College. She has demonstrated a strong commitment to increasing student success, building partnerships with educational and community organizations, and promoting life-long learning, arts, and culture.
“I’m honored to lead my first BRAVO! season at the Island University,” Baker said. “This season offers an incredible opportunity to inspire learning and create meaningful connections with our campus and Corpus Christi community.”
All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place in the H-E-B Performance Hall at the Performing Arts Center located at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
