Islander Homecoming 2024 Dates Announced

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Mark your calendar for February 25-March 2, 2024, for Islander Homecoming week! The week-long festivities are an opportunity to celebrate the exciting things happening at the Island University and welcome alumni who will be here to reconnect, reflect, and catch the Islander spirit.

Whether you are experiencing Homecoming for the first time, or an annual attendee, all will enjoy Homecoming favorites such as the Lighting of the “I”, Homecoming Block Party and Tailgate, and the Islanders Men’s and Women’s basketball games.

“We look forward to seeing all of our alumni, community members, faculty, staff, students, and future students during this fun-filled week,” said Elvia Aguilar ’17, Executive Director of Alumni Engagement. “It is an opportunity to celebrate what makes each of us an Islander Forever.”

Everyone in the community and beyond is invited to show their Islander spirit by wearing blue for Citywide Bluesday Tuesday on February 27.

Islander Homecoming 2024 will also feature a revamped alumni Honors Banquet on Friday, March 1, with the traditional awards for the Island University’s Distinguished, Outstanding, and Young Alumni of the Year.

In addition, the university will “Toast” the class of 2014 for its 10th anniversary, Class of 1999 for its 25th anniversary, and all University of Corpus Christi alumni in a special evening celebration on Friday, March 1.

On Saturday, March 2, The Homecoming Block Party and Tailgate at the American Bank Center will feature food trucks, games, and more. The Islanders Men’s and Women’s basketball teams will battle it out with the Southeastern Louisiana University Lions in the American Bank Center arena. These action-packed activities are family-friendly for Islanders and Islander fans of all ages to attend.
