Mark Your Calendars! Craig and Marc Kielburger Make ‘Doing Good, Doable’

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – In an era of home-grown vegetables, hashtags calling for social justice, and a focus on supporting local entrepreneurs, it’s our generation who could solve the world’s greatest issues. This is the message Craig and Marc Kielburger spread as they inspire millions to take action and make the world a better place.

The Kielburger brothers are social entrepreneurs, passionate humanitarians, founders of the WE Movement, and New York Times best-selling authors whose mission is making “doing good, doable.” Featured as this year’s Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Distinguished Speakers Series guests, they strive to do more than “make caring cool,” they aim to help people connect.

Join us for their interactive talk titled, “ME to WE: Making Doing Good, Doable” on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

Tickets go on sale Monday, Sept. 17, and ticket prices range from $30 to $150.

 “We couldn’t be more excited to travel to Texas to share our work with the inspired young leaders at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi,” said Marc Kielburger. “The sense of purpose and the depth of compassion we’ve seen in the next generation is incredible and inspiring.”

Islanders and students of all ages from the surrounding Coastal Bend area are invited to attend a free Student Forum that will take place before the Distinguished Speakers Series from 2-3 p.m. on the same day.

“We can’t wait to discuss the most important issues facing the world today – from food security and sustainability, to equality and inclusivity. We would love to hear your thoughts on how we can work together to face these issues and change the world,” added Craig Kielburger.

Craig is the youngest graduate from Kellogg’s Executive MBA program and has been an activist since the age of 12. Marc graduated from Harvard University with a degree in International Relations and a law degree from Oxford University. Together, the brothers have earned more than 20 honorary degrees for their work in education and human rights. They engage more than 4 million people annually in service as they push the boundaries of charity, philanthropy, social justice, and creating change.

Since 2011, the Distinguished Speaker Series has brought national and international thought-leaders to Islander students, the campus community and the public to provide insight, provoke thought, and stimulate conversation about some of our time’s most compelling issues, stories, and events.
