Spring 2026 Hooding, Cording & Order of the Engineer Ring Ceremony

On Friday, May 15, 2026, the College of Engineering and Computer Science (COECS) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi hosted its Spring 2026 Hooding, Cording & Order of the Engineer Ring Ceremony.  

The event marked a major milestone in the graduates’ academic journeys, honoring not only their hard work and perseverance, but also their transition into their professions. 

Alongside the formal traditions of hooding, cording, and the Order of the Engineer induction, the event highlighted the personal reflections of two graduating seniors. 

Lindsey LeMaire ’26 reflected on the vital role that community and peer support played throughout her time at TAMU-CC. 

“One of the biggest things that shaped me during my time at TAMU-CC was the people I surrounded myself with," LeMaire said. "I found a really good group of classmates to study with, grow with, and do life with, and they were honestly vital to my success as an engineering student. Many of my friendships will last a lifetime.” 

LeMaire encouraged future students to build strong connections early in their college experience.   

“My advice to incoming students would be to find your village early,” LeMaire said. “Having the right people around you makes all the difference.” 

Her reflections underscored the lasting impact of collaboration, connection, and shared experiences within the engineering program. 

Shifting the focus to career preparation, fellow graduate John Bannister ’26 encouraged students to pursue internships as early as possible. 

“I would say strive to get an internship during your sophomore or junior year," Bannister said. "In today’s job market, graduating with industry experience is almost a necessity, and it can lead to full-time employment after graduation, just as it did for me.” 

His advice underscored how internships can serve as a critical bridge between classroom knowledge and professional success.  

Ultimately, the Spring 2026 COECS ceremony served as both a celebration of hard-earned success and a moment of inspiration, honoring new graduates as they enter the workforce while encouraging future students to build strong communities and pursue hands-on learning.
