Code Blue: Heat Advisory

TAMU-CC CODE BLUE: A heat advisory is in effect for some parts of the Coastal Bend through 8 p.m. Thursday. Heat index values up to 114 are expected, with higher values in isolated locations.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Please use caution if you must be outside: drink plenty of water, take breaks, and wear light-colored, loose clothing. People may suffer from heat-related illnesses at any time of the year, but particularly during hot, humid conditions.

Because the climate at TAMU-CC is conducive to these conditions, people must take preventive measures year-round to reduce their risk. Examples of heat-related illnesses include heat exhaustion, heat stroke, heat cramps, dehydration, and heat rash.

Additional heat advisory notifications throughout the calendar year will be posted to tamucc.edu.
