Biography 

Dr. Mohan Rao is a Professor of Decision Sciences at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) with over 35 years of academic experience. He has served as Vice President for Member Services of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), President of Southwest DSI (SWDSI), a Fulbright Specialist, and a Faculty Senator. He is deeply committed to student learning and success; his online graduate course in Operations Management earned Quality Matters certification with a perfect score. His teaching excellence has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Outstanding Educator Award, Excellence in Teaching Award, and Excellence in Teaching Innovation Award.

Dr. Rao has been actively involved with SWDSI since 1995, serving in numerous leadership roles, including Council Member, Track Chair, Proceedings Editor, Vice President–Finance, President, and Past President. In recognition of his sustained contributions and mentorship, he received the SWDSI Distinguished Service Award in 2025.

He has authored over 80 refereed journal articles and conference proceedings. His research has appeared in leading journals such as Management Science, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Global Information Management, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, and Industrial Management & Data Systems. He has also presented extensively at national and international conferences.
