About Roe Cantu
Roe Cantu is an Administrative Coordinator for the Autonomy Research Institute (ARI), Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC). As Administrator Coordinator under the Grants, Research, and Administration Department, Roe’s main areas of responsibility include managing a team of social media and administrative employees, overseeing student hiring, ensuring quality assurance across documentation, developing guidelines, generating reports, as well as supporting communication and organizational functions.
Roe has served in project coordinating and administrative roles at TAMU-CC for over 10 years, having previously worked in the Office of the Dean of University Libraries, University College, and the College of Science and Engineering Academic Advising Center. Prior to working in higher education, Roe served on active duty in the United States Army while stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She spent time in the 82nd Airborne Division as well as in a military information support unit (4th POG) and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom with two tours in Afghanistan. She is a graduate of the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Basic Airborne Course, and the Primary Leadership Development Course. As a Non-Commissioned Officer, Roe filled multiple roles, including project management responsibilities as Product Development Detachment Team Leader while supporting CJSOTF-A overseas. Additional roles included inventory management and administrative responsibilities as the Company Training and Readiness Coordinator.
Roe is a first-generation graduate, having earned her Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration.
