BAAS in Criminal Justice

• Vocational/technical credit toward the BAAS degree plan
• Course equivalencies for select Criminal Justice courses, when applicable
• Credit that can reduce overall time to degree completion

All police academy credit is subject to review and applied in accordance with university and program guidelines.

To complete the credit review and admission process, students should be prepared to submit the following:

• Official police academy training documentation (such as a TCOLE Personal Status Report)
• Official transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended
• ApplyTexas Application 
• TCOLE identification number (if applicable)
• Official High School/GED transcript (if applicable)
• Consultation with a BAAS advisor to review credit and degree requirements

To apply police academy training toward the BAAS in Criminal Justice, the Admissions Office must receive your TCOLE training record officially and directly from TCOLE. Documents submitted by the student are unable to be accepted as official records. Please follow the steps below. 

Step 1: Access the TCOLE Website

• Log in to your account on the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) website.
• If you do not already have an account, you will need to create one using your personal information.

Step 2: Navigate to the Public Information Request Page

Once logged in:

• Select Information & Resources from the top menu on the TCOLE website.
• Click Public Information Act
• This section allows you to request official training records directly from TCOLE.

Step 3: Request Your Personal Status Report (Training Transcript)

• Submit a request for your Personal Status Report (Training Transcript).
• This document serves as your official record of police academy training and service.

Step 4: Request Official Electronic Delivery

• During the request process, indicate that your Personal Status Report should be sent electronically and directly to the TAMU-CC Admissions Office at:admiss@tamucc.edu (email). Only records sent directly from TCOLE to Admissions are considered official and eligible for evaluation. 

• Screenshots, downloads, emailed copies from the student, or uploaded documents are unable to be accepted as official transcripts.
