Funding resources

Investing in your education can get pretty expensive. The good news is that there are numerous programs and billions of funds in place to assist those pursuing a college degree.

Financial aid is money supplied by a source other than your family to help pay education expenses such as tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, etc. Typically, this aid exists in the form of grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study programs. Financial aid can be need-based (awarded based on your financial need) or merit-based (awarded for special talents or achievements you've made). There are also other ways to fund your college education, such as savings plans, exemptions, tuition rebates, etc.
