There are numerous ways and methods in which you can fund your education outside the 'traditional' forms of financial aid (grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study). Below are some of the most common.

The Employee Betterment Program (EBP) is a tuition assistance program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi that encourages University faculty and staff to further their education. The EBP provides budgeted, regular employees with funds to cover a portion of the A&M-Corpus Christi tuition costs for 12 credit hours per fiscal year. Please take note that students employed in positions which require student status as a condition of employment are not eligible.

Exemptions are a type of financial assistance that allow some students to attend a public college or university in Texas without paying tuition or, in some cases, tuition and fees.
If you are eligible for any fee exemptions or adjustments, you must notify the office noted on our Exemptions list (below) prior to payment of tuition and fees before they can be applied to your account.

Installment payment plans are available to most students through the Business Office during the Fall and Spring semesters, and allow students the opportunity to pay their tuition in small installments.
The Business Office offers eligible students two options to pay by installments:

NOTE: A nonrefundable processing fee of $20.00 will be charged and a late fee of $25.00 will be added to each installment not received by their required due date.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligible students may enroll in the installment plan of their choice during the Fall or Spring semester ONLY. Installment plans are not offered during Maymesters or Summer Sessions. Students receiving Emergency Loans or financial assistance equal to or greater than the amount of tuition and fees at the time of registration are not eligible to pay tuition and fees by installments. Students owing any balances from prior terms or a current term balance of less than $200 for tuition and fees are also not eligible.

Loan forgiveness programs allow the federal government, under certain circumstances, to cancel all or part of an educational loan.
Eligibility Requirements
Loan repayment programs allow certain agencies to make payments directly to the student's loan holder and the payments represent taxable income to the employee.

College savings plans allow for families to begin saving for college expenses prior to attendance.

Education tax credits can help offset the costs of education. These education credits can be deducted from your taxable income or subtracted in full from your federal income tax.

Some corporations and businesses offer tuition assistance programs to their employees. These programs are usually administered through the employer's Human Resources department or are part of an employee's benefits package. In addition to reimbursing college tuition and the cost of books, they can provide the opportunity to integrate desirable educational credentials with future career plans.
Please consult your respective Human Resources department to learn about tuition assistance programs potentially offered through your employer.
Certain undergraduate students who attempt no more than three hours in excess of the minimum number of semester credit hours required to complete their degrees may be entitled up to a $1,000 tuition rebate after graduation.
