Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)

This information page is for non-citizens who are classified as Texas residents.

Legislation enacted in Senate Bill 1528 (SB1528) and House Bill 1403 (HB1403) grants resident status for tuition purposes to certain non-resident students. SB1528/HB1403 students are not eligible for federal funds and therefore cannot complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This page contains documents related to services overseen by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. When selecting the appropriate form, please note that the 2020-2021 school year runs from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. The 2021-2022 school year runs from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.

An alternate form, the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA), is available at www.collegeforalltexans.com for SB1528/HB1403 students to apply for need-based state funds.
