Join us in celebrating the commencement of Research and Innovation Week with food, fun, and networking! Attendees will have the opportunity to visit with many of TAMU-CC’s Centers and Institutes, network, and vote for this year’s Research Image Student Competition winners. Refreshments and appetizers will be provided. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend!

Faculty, staff, and students are invited to learn the ins and outs of communicating research to the media from two of the area’s most seasoned journalists – Bill Churchwell, reporter/anchor for KIII-TV3, and Rachel Clow ’20, specialty producer for investigative and enterprise at KRIS/KZTV/KAJA. Attendees will learn how to turn their research into headlines that appeal to both news reporters and the audiences across TV, newspaper, and social media alike.

3:30-5:00 p.m., Lone Star UAS – Transportation provided. Must pre-register. Limited seats available.

Interested in learning more about TAMU-CC’s very own Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) test site located in Flour Bluff? Join us for a discussion on innovative approaches to research from building interdisciplinary teams to disseminating knowledge and beyond. Dr. Hassan Aziz,  Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, will moderate the panel. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend.

5:00-7:00 p.m., UC Lonestar Ballrooms
Open to faculty and staff.

Take some time out of your day for some great networking, refreshments, appetizers, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Council of Principal Investigators and Research Administrators (CPIRA) and meet with council members representing the Islander research community. All faculty and staff are invited to stop in and mingle as their schedule permits.
