HRI Researcher and Islander Alumna Appointed to Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council

Dr. Kesley Banks ’19, Associate Research Scientist in the Center for Sportfish Science and Conservation at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at TAMU-CC, was recently appointed to the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. She is one of three new members of the Council and will begin her three-year term on Aug. 11, 2023.

Are you planning an event and want campus or public participation? Use our Campaign/Services Request Form to request a publicity campaign from Marketing and Communications. Final products can include digital signage, calendar listings, media alerts, interview pitches, brochures, surveys, photography, videography, web design, and more. For events requiring extensive community exposure, please submit information at least three months in advance. For all other events, please give at least one month's notice.
