Joe Rodriguez is the UAS Pilot II-EOM (Emergency Operations Management) for the Lone Star Unmanned Aerial Systems Center (LSUASC) of Excellence. He is responsible for the safe operation of the wide and varying range of UAS within the LSUASC stable of systems, whenever and wherever the Emergency Management team is dispatched. He is also responsible, under the direction of the Program Director, for developing standard operating procedures that ensure the EM team is ready to mobilize in the safest and most effective manner at a moment’s notice. He will coordinate with local and state first responders in the event of natural or man-made disaster and employ cutting edge UAS technology to aid in search and rescue, damage assessment, and overall situational awareness.

Prior to joining LSUASC, Mr. Rodriguez was a defense contractor and UAS Pilot in support of various global operations. During this time, he served as pilot, maintainer, and advisor to foreign military sales for several allied nation customers.

Mr. Rodriguez is a Navy veteran with years of experience running airborne search and rescue operations around the world. He is also a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Applied Arts and Sciences in Aviation Operations.
