Dr Hector P. Garcia Memorial Day The photo of the celebratory event included the signing of a $25,000 gift courtesy of the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Foundation to TAMUCC. A&M-CC approves naming center for Harte, Sunday, September 27, 1998 An article about the future building project of the Performing Arts Center at TAMUCC, as Board of Regents authorized the naming of the $18 million center. Ed Harte and his wife Janet donated $3.5 million anonymously at the time to help with the design and construction of the center. The building was set to create a cultural boost and set an example for gift-giving as it would be able to bring people from all over the community together to various events that would be held.

CCSU gets Kilgore Texas history collection, Monday, August 27, 1984 An article about a collection of about 10,000 books and documents put together by local accountant Dan Kilgore that chronicles the early history of South Texas donated to CCSU. Kilgore began the collection 35 years ago when he purchased two local history books at a Corpus Christi warehouse that was selling unclaimed items. The appraised value of the items was $385,000 and a dedication ceremony was held as they were housed in the Special Collections and Archives area at the campus library.

Area colleges hoping against okay on LBB plan, Friday, December 14, 1984 An article about the possibility of higher tuition, workforce reductions, and an end to certain programs at local Coastal Bend colleges if a Legislative Budget Board (LBB) proposal to cut higher education funds is approved. CCSU stated that if the proposal was approved it would lead to a 23% reduction in funds, leading to salary cuts as they are the biggest part of their budget.

A&I-CC fund goes over top, Wednesday, December 6, 1972 An article about Texas A&I University at Corpus Christi surpassing the $1.75 million campaign, after a $150,000 contribution from the James R. Dougherty Jr. Foundation raised the development fund total to more than $1.8 million. The funds are restricted to be used only for academic programs and cannot be used to buy land for the institution.

Large gifts pace A&I-CC fund drive, Tuesday, July 4, 1972 An article about how most of the donations made to the A&I-CC fund drive have been donated in contributions of $5,000 to $150,000. The fund has raised $1,367,368 of the $1,750,000 goal and their have been contributions that ranged from $1 to $150,000. John Crutchfield the campaign chairman mentioned that they are confident they will receive many more contributions, both small and large, and will be impactful as the drive is for the future success of the University.

UCC Library Fulfills Dream, Saturday, May 11, 1963 An article about the dedication of the UCC library with the Library Donors, Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Butt. About 500 students, faculty members, and friends of the college were in attendance for the brief dedication, and the building was dedicated to the "Glory of God". The dedication included brief speeches, a program of readings, music, and a dedicatory prayer by Howard Butt Jr.

Alumni from the 1960s "Jag" Cheema who earned his business degree in 1967 from the University, also met his wife Linda, a fellow UCC student. THey have made a special bond with Islander Athletics and have made impactful contributions and enjoy meeting students impacted by their generosity to the University. Islander Field will be a three-story sports facility that will house public bathrooms, a concession stand on the first floor, a press box, and an upper-level suite. Port of Corpus Christi donation to TAMU-CC, June 30, 2023 An article about the Port of Corpus Christi's $50,000 gift to TAMUCC in the Summer of 2023 to support programs offered by the Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Sciences. The goal of the funds is to offer summer camps available to middle school students, STEM workshops for educators, and to help put together a curriculum for the CTE pathway.

New Scholarship for TAMU-CC Nursing Program, October 24, 2022 An article about the $50,000 donation from Corpus Christi Medical Center to the University's undergraduate Nursing Program. The funds will support a new endowed scholarship for full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the nursing program. Fall 2008 Community Support News An article talking about community support to the University in Fall 2008 with various contributions made, including $5 million from the estate of Lawrence Atkins, a visiting artists endowment provided by the Cotillion Club in more than $60,000, Greater Texas Foundation's endowment established with various grants and amounts: $20,000, $80,000 and totaling the endowment to $200,000. AEP gifted the University $25,000 to support the institution's greatest need and awarding of arts scholarships and community outreach donation funds scholarships.
