National Distance Learning Week 2022

DLAI invites the campus community to join us for National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) November 7th – 11th. We have a variety of virtual and face-to-face events and games planned to celebrate and appreciate all digital learning and teaching!

The celebrations will lead up to the announcement of the 2022 Digital Innovator of the Year – Student Choice award recipient.

2022 Digital Innovator of the Year - Student Choice Award

The Digital Innovator of the Year – Student Choice Award was created as a way for students to recognize the hard work, dedication, and innovative use of digital technologies by their instructors at TAMU-CC.

How do I nominate an instructor? The nomination form will open here Monday, October 31st and will close Monday, November 7th, 11:59 PM (the end of day). All students who nominate an instructor will receive an I-Create Lab voucher!

The Digital Innovator of the Year – Student Choice Award Recipient will be announced November 11th.

Schedule of Events

  • Monday, November 7th: NDLW Kick Off Reception, 1 – 3 PM at the Mary and Jeff Bell Library 2nd floor (SCA Commons). Snacks and refreshments will be served. All attendees will receive a free t-shirt (while supplies last). Add to calendar.
      
  • Monday, November 7th: Virtual Kick Off Zoom Lounge, 1 – 3 PM - Can’t make it in-person to the reception? Drop into our Zoom Lounge at any time from 1-3 PM to receive your free t-shirt (while supplies last) (Zoom link: https://tamucc.zoom.us/j/93341919343) 
  • All Week (Nov. 7th – 11th): Share your Digital Islander Story! We want to know your "Digital Islander Story"! Participate in discussion question prompts and earn a small prize for each prompt you respond to for a possible total of 5 prizes! Students, check your Undergraduate Digital Resource Course (U-DRC) or Graduate Digital Resource Course (G-DRC) in Blackboard for more details. 
  • Tuesday, November 8th – Thursday, November 10th: A new video premier every day! Look out for a new video each day discussing current trends, emerging issues, and best practices in digital teaching and learning. 
  • Wednesday, November 9th Noon – 1 PM. Lunch & Learn (Exploring Bb Ultra Base Navigation) at Bayview Room, UC 320 – All faculty are invited to join us for a sneak peek at Ultra Base Navigation presented face-to-face by our partners from Blackboard. A buffet-style lunch will be provided for attendees on a first come, first serve basis. Add to calendar.
     
  • Friday, November 11th: Friday Fun Fest, 2 – 3 PM Students, join us for a VIRTUAL hour of fun and trivia games to wrap up NDLW with a bang! Participants will have a chance to compete for prizes.
