Welcome from Dean David Scott
Greetings!

Welcome to the TAMU-CC College of Education and Human Development. We are a college deeply committed to excellence and to our mission of equity, educational achievement, and the preparation of transformative leaders with 21st Century knowledge and skills to serve the diverse needs of local, regional, and global communities. We prepare candidates for school, community, and industry roles that include PK-12 teachers and administrators, professors, instructional designers, professional counselors, and experts within the field of kinesiology, athletic training, and sport management. In academic year 2021-22, we graduated over 300 students across 18 academic programs in four academic departments.
As you will find on our academic programs page, we offer three undergraduate programs, 12 master’s programs, and three doctoral programs. We additionally offer 14 transcripted certificate or professional certification programs. TAMU-CC and the College of Education and Human Development is home to the Early Childhood Development Center, a pre-kindergarten 3 and 4-year-old school, in partnership with Corpus Christi ISD. The College also partners with the City of Corpus Christi and the Art Museum of South Texas to engage with children, adults, and families in the community at the Antonio E. Garcia Arts and Education Center. Finally, the College houses the Military Science/ROTC program, which provides curriculum and leadership training leading to commissioning of students to become officers in the United States Army.
Our college hosts highly accomplished faculty who are expressly committed to excellent teaching and innovative research. Students in both undergraduate and graduate programs are provided opportunities and encouraged to engage in research with faculty. The College is also highly committed to community engagement and outreach.
As we move forward from the challenges experienced during the pandemic, we remain committed to helping our students and the communities we serve reach their dreams and highest aspirations. We offer many opportunities and possibilities, and we invite you to join us as students, partners, and/or alumni in our exciting path ahead.
Sincerely,
David Scott, Ed.D
