  • Virtual services include: Mock interviews, resume reviews, career counseling, access to online job database (Handshake).
  • Q&A Virtual sessions with Career Counselors are being offered.
  • Workshops related to careers and employment are being delivered through faculty and student organizations.
  • Employer Q&A will be available in virtual format soon.

Counseling Center – https://counseling.tamucc.edu/

  • Tele-counseling services include:  Counseling staff are providing individual video counseling sessions for students.
  • Online resources on a variety of topics are available for students (time management, stress management).  
  • Online self-help program (TAO)is available.
  • Group therapy is being conducted through video sessions.
  • After hours Crisis Line is available (361-825-2703).
  • Individual phone consultations and virtual walk- in hours for COD (counselor on duty)are available.

Disability Services – https://disabilityservices.tamucc.edu/

  • Disability Services (DS) continues to process requests for academic accommodations.
  • DS staff are coordinating Interpreter Services and captioning for deaf students.
  • DS staff are providing assistive technology to students.
  • DS staff are troubleshooting issues related to academic accommodations for faculty and students.

Engagement Initiatives – https://ei.tamucc.edu/

  • “The Mommy Track” and “This Changes Everything” (coming April 13). For more info, visit http://ei.tamucc.edu/inclusion/Resources.html .
  • “eCheckUp to go” is an online assessment and intervention tool for cannabis. Launch of this program with prizes beings April 8.
  • Prevention Power Hour Mini-Version (Cannabis and Your Mind) are being posted to the I-Team Facebook page.

Health Center https://healthcenter.tamucc.edu/

  • Tele-health services include: evaluation of symptoms; processing of existing refills & prescriptions for students; providing orders for laboratory testing, radiology studies or a higher level of care as needed. 
  • Individual consultations with students are available. 
  • HC staff provides educational resources to students on their individual conditions through the student health portal.
  • After hours Nurse Line is available (361-825-2601, option 2).
  • Website continually updated with local resource information.

Islander Housing – https://housing.tamucc.edu/

  • Continue to provide housing on-site.
  • Providing the Islander Leadership Seminar, a text-based non-credit course open to all students but required for RA applicants through I-Engage.
  • Islander Housing staff is utilizing virtual spaces including Zoom and social media to provide a modified residence life program. Resident advisors are conducting calls via phone and facetime to check in on residents and social programming is occurring via zoom. 

Izzy’s Food Pantry – http://seas.tamucc.edu/FoodPantry/

  • Food Bag Distribution Days are being offered on Thursdays to TAMU-CC students.     
  • A Mobile Pantry, similar to the concept of Fresh Food Friday, is planned in April.
  • Online orders for food are being placed weekly to support students in need.

Recreational Sports – https://recsports.tamucc.edu/index.html

  • Intramurals is offering the following activities and promoting virtually: Run Islander Run, T-Shirt Design Challenge, FIFA tournament, Madden NFL tournament, NBA2K, and Strongest Islander.
  • Outdoors Adventures Program is offering video workshops on topics such as: What is Outdoor Adventures? How to Camp; How to Hike; How to Cook; How to set up a Tent; How to Start a Fire; and How to Backpack.
  • Group Fitnessclasses are being offered online every Tuesday and Thursday. 
  • Fitness & Wellness is also offering individual training sessions for current paid clients (students/faculty/staff).
  • Nutritional Counseling is being offered via Tele-health.
  • Student employees are working on special projects and staff meetings are being conducted virtually.
  • Department is processing reservation requests for the facility for events after August.
  • Students have access to the Sports YouTube station.

SEAS Annual SEAS Leadership & Service Awards

  • An online platform will be used to recognize those students selected for awards.

  • Student Activities is continuing to engage their student group leaders and membership through virtual meetings.
  • National Society for Leadership & Success is continuing to operate fully online (small group meetings and speaker series) and members can earn induction if they choose.
  • University Council of Student Organizations is fully operational online through the use of I-Engage and via phone calls. UCSO will offer virtual meetings online helping with transition of officers, elections, and other organizational business.
  • Fraternity and Sorority Life meetings are being held virtually, and they are planning online social events.
  • Student Volunteer Connection has extended the deadline to apply for the President’s Volunteer Service Award and students who meet the criteria will be recognized. Certificates and pins will be mailed to those who achieve the awards.  In addition, opportunities for students to participate in service are available to students via I-Engage/Give Pulse portal.
  • Leadership@TAMU-CC is offering online interactive leadership workshops.
  • Campus Activities Board (CAB) will be hosting watch parties, online Bingo, and other online interactive events soon.
  • Aloha Days is continuing their student leader selection process. Camp leaders will engage online               to build community as they plan for the upcoming camp.
  • Planning efforts are continuing for Waves of Welcome programming for the fall semester.

Student Assistance Program

  • SEAS Case Manager is assisting students with extenuating circumstances that are impacting classes. Meetings are through a video chat room. 
  • Call Center email (islanderhelp@tamucc.edu) is continuing to be monitored.
  • SEAS Case Manager is following up on cases from the Call Center that were not immediately resolved.

Student Conduct & Advocacy – https://judicialaffairs.tamucc.edu/

  • Student Conduct is continuing to hold Student Conduct Conferences and Conduct Board Meetings in order to complete the disciplinary process. 
  • Behavior Intervention Team and Case Managers are is meeting with students virtually to address concerns they may have. 

Student Government Association – https://sga.tamucc.edu/index.html

  • Executive Board weekly meetings are being held virtually.
  • Preparations are being made for student elections.

University Center – https://studentactivities.tamucc.edu/universitycenter/index.html

  • University Center Programs offers Quarantunes Play List on social media to be offered on other platforms such as Spotify and YouTube.
  • Scheduling and reservations are still being processed utilizing Virtual EMS; have begun taking reservations for the next academic year.
  • Student leadership training is being provided remotely for student employees.
  • Student employees are working remotely on projects to prepare for summer and fall semesters.
  • Breakers Game Room will soon be providing an offering of online gaming activities.
  • Educational workshops will be available in virtual format soon.
