Oct. 22, 2020: A Message from the President

Dear Islander Faculty and Staff,

As we approach the half-way mark of the fall semester, I want to thank everyone again for remaining flexible and adhering to the safety protocols we have put in place. I am proud of each of you for your perseverance and your commitment to keeping everyone on the Island safe.

Thanks to this hard work and mutual respect, our efforts to keep our campus community safe have been largely successful. Now is not the time to let our guards down. Please remember to wear face coverings whenever you are around others, practice social distancing, wash your hands frequently, perform your daily self-monitoring, and do not report to campus if you meet criteria from the self-monitoring checklist or aren’t feeling well. Just as our community came together at the onset of the pandemic, we must continue to adhere to the guidelines set forth by public health officials to ensure a successful finish to the Fall semester and a strong start in the Spring.

Please remember that students, faculty, and staff are required to report a positive COVID-19 test result to the Texas A&M University System. If you have questions, please visit our dedicated COVID-19 website.

I remain thankful for all of you and your work to make the Island Campus a safe place to ensure every student succeeds.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kelly M. Miller
