A Message from the President: CARES Act Update

Published: Mar 3, 2021 3:00 PM

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, ensuring academic quality and maintaining student services remain a top priority at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. We are doing everything we can to assist you including the distribution of another round of funding from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund authorized by the CARES Act. You must apply and qualify for this federal aid. More information and the application is available on the Office of Student Financial Assistance website.

If you do not meet the criteria for a CARES award, we will do our best to award other types of funding to assist you. Other aid may consist of institutional grants or scholarships, federal or state aid, or an adjustment to your financial aid package based on your situation.

You may also be able to receive funding from the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Student employment and eligibility requirements were temporarily removed to provide easier access. This change is in place for the duration of the pandemic.

Finally, we are applying a $200 credit toward fees for all students enrolled in the 2021 Spring term. The credit distribution began last week.

Ensuring your success is at the core of all we do at the Island University. If you have any financial concerns, please reach out to the Office of Student Financial Assistance via email at faoweb@tamucc.edu or by phone at 361.825.2338.

Thank You,

Dr. Kelly M. Miller, Ph.D.
