Current Events
Service is a big part of the Honors Program. Our students volunteer countless hours with HSA, at the university, and in the greater community. We also have great Program events, such as Honors Ball, Symposium, peer mentoring, and the Big Event. This year as a service project the students are working on identifying and cataloging all of the cats in the famous Cat Alley on campus.
In their first semester in the Program, students in Honors Campus Leadership engage in a project that provides support, resources and space for students to practice leadership skills while serving their Islander community. This project builds on research in experiential education that merges the fields of service learning and leadership to empower students to be agents of change and to prepare them for challenging careers or graduate and professional schools.
