Article I Name:
The name of this organization shall
be the Islander Athletic Trainers
Association. (I.S.A.T.A.)
Article II Membership:
Section 1: Membership shall not be
restricting by race, gender, creed, age
or disability.
Section 2: Membership shall be open
to all TAMU-CC students interested
in Athletic Training.
Section 3: All Athletic Training
Students must be a member of I.S.A.T.A.
Section 4:
All members must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher per
academic semester.
Section 5: Dues must be paid before
coming a member.
Section 6: Members must participate
in at least two events per month.
Article III Dues and Meetings
Section 1: Dues will be twenty-five
dollars per year; which will be paid to
the treasurer, by the set due
date, (which is determined at the first meeting of the
academic year) for all new members. A fine of five dollars will be added
to the initial dues for each week the dues are late.
Section 2: The organization
will meet at least once a month on a day to be determined by the executive
board.
Section 3: The president
shall have the power to call special meetings when necessary.
Article IV Disbursements of Dues and Raised Funds.
Section 1: Membership dues
are disbursed with in the I.S.A.T.A. organization to help purchase new member
shirts, starting fundraisers and to help with cost of NATA or SWATA
convention registration.
Article V Officers and Duties
The officers of this organization
shall be: President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer and UCSO
representative.
Section 1: The duties of the
President shall be to preside at all the
meetings, enforce the constitution,
to decide question order and to vote
in the case of a tie.
Section 2: The duties of the Vice
President are to preside at all meetings
in the absence of the President.
Section 3: The duties of the
Secretary are to keep records of all the
meetings and maintain a membership
roster.
Section 4: The duties of the
Treasurer shall be to collect dues, keep
financial records, and to spend
money as to the discretion of majority
rule of the organization.
Section 5: The duties of the
Organization Representative shall be to attend
all UCSO meetings and to represent
our organization at special events.
Article VI Election of Officers
Section 1: Elections will be held
the first week in May and elected
officials shall take office the
following week.
Section 2: Nominations shall take
place the day of elections.
Section 3: Voting shall be by secret
ballots and votes will be counted by
the faculty advisor.
Section 4: Terms are
for one year. Can be reelected only once.
Article VII Qualifications of Officers
Section 1: Officers must be in good
standing with the University and
be a member in the organization for
one semester.
Section 2: Officers must be members
of NATA and SWATA.
Article VIII Faculty Advisor
Section 1: The organization shall
have a regular faculty advisor who will
attend the meetings and advise the
organization.
Article IX Robert’s Rule of Order
Section 1: Robert’s rule of order
shall be used as a guide by the presiding
officers in all situations not
covered by the constitution.
Article X Amendments
Section 1: Amendments to the
constitution shall be presented in writing
for submission for the members to
vote.
Section 2: A 2/3 vote by the
members shall suffice for the adoption thereof.
Section 3: A quorum of 50%+1 must
be present at the meetings and 2/3
vote must be obtained in order to
make amendments and decisions.
Article XI Attendance and Removal
Section 1: Attendance is
mandatory. Secretary shall record all absences.
Section 2: Excused absences must be
written and turned into the executive
board and faculty advisor no later
than 12:00pm the day after the meeting.
Section 3: Three unexcused absences
shall result in removal from the
organization.
Section 4: To rejoin the
organization, the person must repay the twenty-
five dollar dues.
Section 5: Any
member may be removed from this organization for a just
cause by a majority
vote of the active members at the meeting where
cause is discussed
(everyone must vote).
