Please note: Students at this point may choose to work in grade level groups. Because students have been starting on the project to develop a semester plan for class of their choice, this second portfolio must include materials to show their progress. We will be sharing and responding to work in progress for the semester plans, and sharing resources.
Necessary contents of second portfolio:
A reflective overview of the work in the portfolio, ExperientialTeaching? Plan and Report/Reflection (observing a teacher or teaching a child) Intel Module 2 (copyright, works cited and/or resources worksheets; check with your instructor for exact requirements). Intel Module 8, "Supporting the Diverse Needs of Learners" (8.02; exact requirements depend on instructor). Formal teaching philosophy (developed from literacy autobio/reflections, and readings), (1-2 pages, double spaced, maximum). Mini Teach peer evaluation, reflection and all supporting materials, including research and/or lesson plans found online, and An overview of the 18 week semester plan, including: A calendar, spreadsheet, or graphic organizer of your units for all 18 weeks, organized by essential question or theme, Student Learning Goals and Objectives for your semester plan, 2 finished integrated units including at least 5 sequenced activities that build to the essential question (Students can use module 1.08-1.09 as a model for the unit plan, and list TEKS for activities) A works cited page (Students can use modules 2.05-2.10 for help and models; APA or MLA style documentation is appropriate)
We will be constructing a rubric for portfolio two in class. We will have time in class for much of this work, but please be aware that you are responsible for understanding and completing the work listed above. Please email/ask questions as they come up.
Please note: For Portfolio Three, you will be required to turn in unit plans to cover the entire 18 week semester. Each student /group will be responsible for 50 hours of minute-by-minute lesson planning (Middle/ High School 1 hour/day x 10 weeks; Elementary 5 hours/day x 2 weeks).
