A few of the questions that I hope to be able to address are:
Where does the Native American basic writer fit?
How can we affectively reach the Native American basic writer?
What are some common errors of Native American basic writers?
Are there any pedagogical theories already in existence to help the Native American basic writer?
What are some statistics regarding the Native American basic writer?
What difficulties do they encounter and deal with as basic writers and Native Americans?
I hope to be able to find some articles regarding teaching Native American basic writers. I chose this topic because I hope to be able to help my fellow Native Americans and the more I know about their issues both educational and political the better able I am to help them in the future. They often do not have access to a proper education, drop out of high school frequently, and do not often seek higher education. I think that there are many Native American basic writers, I was a basic writer myself. There is one book that I have found already titled, Red Pedagogy by Sandy Grande.
