OVERVIEW
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi strives to maintain superior
standards in all research and scholarship activities. The university
expects all employees and other persons participating in university
research projects and/or support activities to do likewise. |

| 2. |
ALLEGATIONS OF MISCONDUCT
Any allegations of misconduct in university research or scholarship
activities should be reported in writing to the Associate Vice President
for Research and Scholarly Activity. The Associate Vice President
for Research and Scholarly Activity is the designated officer who
is responsible for carrying out the requirements of this rule and
of System Regulation 15.99.03. |

INVESTIGATIONS
When written allegations of misconduct in research or scholarship
are presented to the Associate Vice President for Research and Scholarly
Activity, he or she may initiate an inquiry into the alleged misconduct. |

3.1 |
The inquiry is an informal fact finding
effort to determine whether an allegation warrants an investigation.
The inquiry will be conducted by the Associate Vice President for
Research and Scholarly Activity, or by a committee appointed by this
administrator. |

3.2 |
If the inquiry provides sufficient basis
for conducting an investigation, one shall be conducted following
the guidelines of System Regulation 15.99.03. The investigation is
a formal examination of relevant facts to determine if misconduct
has occurred and will be conducted by a committee appointed by the
Associate Vice President for Research and Scholarly Activity. |
