Academic Technology Council

Purpose or Function:  On all matters pertaining to the use of Software, Hardware, Networking, and Data Management in support of Teaching, Research, and Service, the ATC communicates with the various units of the University on their technology needs and interests, sponsors the Information Technology Roundtable for campus discussion of ATC recommendations, initiatives, and programs, makes recommendations in accord with regulations and best practices to the Provost’s Council and the Information Technology Council, and ensures the University adheres to relevant policy, regulations, and accreditation standards.

Membership: A representative from each college recommended by the dean and, recommended by their respective department heads, a representative from the library, a representative from computer services, a representative from Student Affairs, a representative from the Faculty Renaissance Center Advisory Committee, and other members from strategic offices.

A subset of the committee members, chosen by mutual agreement between chair and committee member, forms the ATC’s Core Committee.  The Core Committee, which meets twice each month and as needed to execute the ATC’s agenda as set by a full meeting of the ATC in the first two weeks of each semester, is responsible for forming, tasking, and chairing subcommittees within the ATC.
