Dr. Gary Jeffress
An Outstanding Islander
Dr. Gary Jeffress has taught in Australia, the United States and Haiti. The director of the Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science has served on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Hydrographic Services Review Panel (HSRP). He also has worked as a professor and program coordinator of the University’s Geographic Information Science program. His work involves collecting and analyzing geographic data and information to result in sound environmental and economically viable land management and development.
