Box Office Smash
Terri Cardona came out of retirement in fall 2007 to work as the administrative assistant and box officer manager of the Performing Arts Center (PAC). Her background in arts and facility management stems from 25+ years experience as the scheduling/events coordinator for the City of Corpus Christi Bayfront Plaza Auditorium (renamed Selena Auditorium) and Convention Center. Throughout her career, Cardona has met many celebrities including Jay Leno, Barry Manilow, Donny and Marie Osmond and Clint Black. In her current position, Cardona is responsible for all ticket sales for the Furgason Bravo! Series for the Performing Arts, the College of Liberal Arts departmental productions, and for Corpus Christi Chorale, Corpus Christi Live! and other non-profit entities needing tickets sold in the PAC box office. Cardona supervises 10 students working in the box office, serves as a clearinghouse for all campus information for visitors who stop by her PAC lobby window and often works nights and weekends for scheduled concerts and events. She is thankful for her opportunities to assist many non-profit organizations, which she feels are an integral part of the community. As a patron for the arts, she feels strongly about exposing children to a variety of music, theatre, art and cultural events. For Cardona, the best part about working at the Island University is the endless energy she draws from the students. She says there’s never a dull moment on campus and she looks forward to students discussing their classes, and campus experiences and involvement. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her two sons and two granddaughters.
