Young Genius
Junior Colleen Gartner takes her classes seriously. The 17-year-old business management major's secret to a 4.0 grade point average is attending every class, listening, asking questions and taking notes. Colleen, who is from the Houston area, is a recipient of the Academic Achievement Scholarship (based on class rank and test scores) and is vice president of membership for the Society of Advancement of Management. After graduation, she plans to either attend law school or start a small business. Fortunately, Colleen's sister Georgia, a senior psychology major at the University, has shown her the ropes and eased her transition from high school to college life. Both sisters took Dr. Bob Bezdek's political science class together last semester. In her spare time, Colleen enjoys bike riding, painting landscapes and playing with her Maltese, Frisbee. Colleen loves the enthusiasm of her professors and the University's student-faculty ratio of 19:1.
