Leading Leadership Philosophy
By the time Dr. Bryant Griffith's students enroll in a graduate program, he has observed their dedication and strong commitment to change the world. The professor, who teaches curriculum and instruction, arrived at the Island University in 2002 from Canada's Acadia University. The Toronto native says he's fortunate to be part of an environment where faculty are genuinely concerned for every student - many with deep family obligations. Griffith, who enjoys teaching Philosophy of Education, says he's not trying to turn students into philosophers, but rather show them important ideas. His recent book "Cultural Narration" earned him a nomination for the American Educational Research Association's 2009 Outstanding Book Award, which honors the year's best book in education research and development. Griffith is a member of Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals in Education.
