CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Jordan Matney, an alumna of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, has been named the new Assistant City Manager for Live Oak, Texas. Matney graduated from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with her Master of Arts in Public Administration in fall 2013.
As the new Assistant City Manager, Matney will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of the city. She will be assigned a variety of duties in her new position, from addressing citizen complaints and concerns to assisting with major projects and long term contracts regarding city services and service provision. All of these responsibilities will utilize the knowledge and skills she acquired and enhanced while enrolled in the Public Administration program at the Island University.
Live Oak boasts a dynamic economic environment for its business community with multiple shopping centers, a major hospital and medical complexes, college campuses, and financial resources. The town strives to maintain an enhanced quality of life for its residents through the planning and development of peaceful residential neighborhoods.
