Dr. Corinne Valadez Named to Chancellor’s Academy of Teacher Educators

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –Dr. Corinne Valadez, Associate Professor in the College of Education's Department of Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, was recently named to the Chancellor's Academy of Teacher Educators. As a recipient of this distinguished award, Valadez was recognized during the Annual Banquet of the Chancellor's Century Council held on February 21 in College Station.

The Academy is a recently developed initiative of the Texas A&M University System acknowledging teaching excellence. It is supported by the Chancellor's Century Council, a group of private donors committed to advancing the future of higher education in Texas.

Recipients were also awarded $1,000, a certificate, and a commemorative medallion bearing the seal of the A&M System. The medallion is to be worn on occasions requiring academic regalia.

Academy members have the honor of serving on the Selection Committee for future nominations and are also asked to present at the Chancellor's Summit on Teacher Education which occurs each fall.
